Hello My Name Is...
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to
remain an artist once he grows up.
I am the art teacher at South Park Elementary Center where I teach Kindergarten through 4th grade. I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts at California University of PA with a concentration in Sculpture and Drawing. After working in the art industry for a year, I went back to school for my Masters of Arts in Teaching with my K-12 certification. I worked in two different schools previously and this is my third year at SPEC. Each year I change my art curriculum to keep students interested and to teach new skills. This year's theme is Recycled Art. In my classroom, a student's success is not measured by the final outcome of the project but rather how hard they tried and the effort put forth to create and learn new art forms.
In my free time, I can be found dancing at local Native American Powwows, creating art and making regalia, and walking my dog. I enjoy reading, being outdoors and spending time with family.
