Welcome to SPEC First Grade! I have had the pleasure of teaching 40 years in both the first and second grade at South Park School District. I received my credentials at Westminster College. I have two adult children and two granddaughters. My hobbies include reading mysteries, playing with my cat, and spoiling my young granddaughters. During the year, you can see me out with them doing community events at the South Park library or summer recreation program. I have resided all of my adult life in South Park and I feel that it is a wonderful environment in which to live and raise a family.
Teaching is an ever changing profession but all teachers are dedicated to building strong literacy skills while developing math abilities so as to prepare each student for future careers. I am organized, hardworking, and dedicated to my class. My lessons are thoroughly planned and prepared so that all students stay focused and interested. My goal each day is to be a patient, caring, good listener so that I am sensitive to each child's needs and moods. A strong home-school connection is imperative, so I encourage families to be a part of your child's experience this year. The school and the PTO supply meaningful activities and fun experiences for both during and after school time periods. I encourage you to get involved. I look forward to having a great year teaching your children.
