As the Eagles prepare to compete in winter sports, the South Park School District is providing this update to families regarding the attendance of spectators at competitions. Indoor gathering restrictions will significantly reduce the capacity of the district’s indoor facilities. The district is permitted to use no more than 10% of the facility’s capacity while adhering to face covering and physical distancing requirements. This reduced capacity is to include student-athletes, coaches, medical staff, district staff and security.

Spectator procedures, as of today, for winter sports events at South Park High School facilities are:

Basketball, Wrestling & Bocce

Each senior student-athlete will receive four (4) spectator tickets. All other student-athletes will receive two (2) spectator tickets. Admission is by ticket only. Tickets will not be sold at the door. No visiting fans are permitted. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the competition.

Swimming

Due to limited seating in the natatorium, only senior student-athletes will receive two (2) spectator tickets. No other tickets will be issued at this time. Tickets will not be sold at the door. No visiting fans are permitted. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the competition.

These procedures are subject to change.

SPECTATOR PROCEDURES & PROTOCOLS:

Every spectator must wear a face covering that completely covers the nose and mouth AT ALL TIMES, including when you are seated.

Spectators must adhere to physical distancing guidelines by separating themselves by at least six feet from those who do not live in their household.

All spectators must go through a temperature screening before being permitted to enter the facility.

Those exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 are to stay home.

Spectators are to adhere to all directions/instructions by police officers, game managers and game workers at all times. Those who do not adhere to these directions/instructions will be asked to leave the facility immediately.

Restrooms will be open. Concession stands will be closed.

Spectators must exit the facility immediately after the conclusion of the competition and refrain from standing in groups inside or outside the facility.

The district will stream as many competitions as possible on the NFHS Network. Fans can watch home events for free after creating a free NFHS account.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to ensure everyone’s health and safety this winter sports season.
