Online Attendance Forms

When South Park students enrolled in in-person learning or the South Park Cyber Academy are learning from home, the Pennsylvania Department of Education requires school districts to track daily attendance so these days count towards the 180 instructional day mandate. When students attend in-person classes, attendance is tracked by their homeroom teacher.

The South Park School District’s system of tracking attendance for all district students is detailed below.

K-4 Students Enrolled in In-Person Learning

K-4 students enrolled in in-person learning will log their attendance on at-home days on an online attendance form. Each homeroom teacher will have a unique attendance form, and the homeroom teacher will share the link to the attendance form with families and post the link in Canvas. Links to all teachers’ attendance forms will be posted on sparksd.org and spec.sparksd.org.

K-4 students are required to report their attendance on each at-home day no earlier than 8:30 a.m. and no later than 9 a.m. The teacher’s online attendance form will not change and will not close, so it is important that students submit their attendance during the listed time window.

K-4 Students Enrolled in the South Park Cyber Academy

Attendance for K-4 students enrolled in the South Park Cyber Academy will be taken during a virtual daily meeting to start the school day. K-4 Cyber Academy students are not required to complete an online attendance form. Information on this virtual daily meeting will be shared by the student’s teacher.

5-8 Students Enrolled in In-Person Learning or the South Park Cyber Academy

5-8 students enrolled in in-person learning or the South Park Cyber Academy will log their attendance on an online attendance form. Each student, whether they are enrolled in the in-person model or the cyber academy, will be assigned a homeroom teacher. That teacher will have a unique attendance form, and the homeroom teacher will share the link to the attendance form with families and post the link in Canvas. Links to all teachers’ attendance forms will be posted on sparksd.org and spms.sparksd.org.

5-8 students are required to report their attendance on each at-home day no earlier than 7:50 a.m. and no later than 8:20 a.m. The teacher’s online attendance form will not change and will not close, so it is important that students submit their attendance during the listed time window.

9-12 Students Enrolled in In-Person Learning

9-12 students enrolled in in-person learning will log their attendance on an online attendance form for their first period teacher. Each first period teacher will have a unique attendance form, and links to all high school attendance forms will be posted on sparksd.org and sphs.sparksd.org.

9-12 students are required to report their attendance on each at-home day no earlier than 7:00 a.m. and no later than 7:30 a.m. The teacher’s online attendance form will not change and will not close, so it is important that students submit their attendance during the listed time window.

9-12 Students Enrolled in the South Park Cyber Academy

Attendance for 9-12 students enrolled in the South Park Cyber Academy will be automatically tracked through Edgenuity, the online learning platform 9-12 cyber academy students will use to access course content, instruction, assignments and assessment. 9-12 Cyber Academy students are not required to complete an online attendance form.

If the district is required to transition to completely remote instruction in a school building or buildings, students enrolled in the in-person model would be required to report their attendance on their homeroom teacher’s online attendance form every school day.

Students must be logged in to their district Google email account to view and submit the actual attendance forms. All district students are given a district Google email account. A student’s email address is [email protected] and the password is his/her six-digit student ID unless the student has changed his/her password. If you do not know your child’s student ID, contact your school office.

If you have questions about attendance procedures, please contact your building principal.
