South Park Families:

A TikTok post has been shared widely across the country this week, referring to a threat to school safety for schools nationwide on Friday, December 17. To be clear, this post is part of a nationwide trend and did not originate in or mention the South Park School District.

While this post is not believed to be a credible threat, the South Park School District, as well as districts across the county, state and country, are monitoring the situation. The district will continue to act with the safety of our students, faculty and staff as our primary focus. Our school police officers work with our law enforcement partners daily and will be present at our schools tomorrow, as they are every day, to ease any concerns.

Again, at this time, there are no threats involving the South Park School District or against any of our schools, students or staff members, and classes will be held as scheduled on Friday.

Any threats or rumors of violence will be taken seriously and thoroughly investigated. We ask families to monitor their children’s social media accounts and speak with them about proper social media usage. Anyone who becomes aware of a potential threat is asked to contact a district administrator or police as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and support as we all work to ensure safe and secure learning environments for our students, faculty and staff.
